Amazon is officially opening a physical store in New York’s upscale neighbourhood SoHo this Thursday. The store will carry products from Amazon’s online store as long as they scored four stars or more. The store will also feature top selling products, alongside new and trending items. The store will be called Amazon 4 star.
As Mashable puts it, “basically it’s the Amazon homepage in physical form. It’s very reminiscent of the Barnes & Noble stores that Amazon effectively killed.”
Even though Amazon’s products can score up to five stars, the company calculated the average ratings of all its products available in the store and came up with a 4.4 star rating- hence, it is called Amazon 4 star.

You can expect to find anything from toys and electronics, to kitchen appliances. The current collection on display will be a bit more exclusive and include products that are trending in New York city as well as items that are often added to Amazon’s wish list.
Prices at the physical location might be a little inflated, however, members of Amazon Prime will be able to purchase the products according to their price on Amazon.com.
In case you’re in the neighbourhood, store hours are Monday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
